What is CUPPING?
Cupping therapy is where special cups are placed on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
What does Cupping do?
It increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
After Cupping:
For 4-6 hours post cupping, avoid exposure to:
- Caffeine, alcohol, sugary foods and drinks, dairy, and processed meats. These foods slow down your body’s ability to process the treatment.
- Extreme temperatures:Hot showers, saunas, hot tubs and strong air conditioning.
- Intense exercise.
- Cold and windy conditions.
